Whitlock was lights out for Boston in 2021. The still 25 year old laid out a 1.96 ERA across 76 innings pitched while compiling an 8-4 record. But in the postseason he really turned the knife.

Whitlock threw three and a third scoreless innings vs the Rays in the Division series picking up a W for his troubles. Then came back to again show out pretty well against the Astros. Pitching four innings in the ALCS. in totale Whitlock threw in five post season games, shelled a 2.16 ERA spread across eight and a third innings pitched. Not too shabby for a rule five guy. Oh the Killer: Whitlock was on the hill vs the Yankee’s to close out their wild card win. You gotta love it.

Yea Cashman scooped up Red Sox centerfield prospect Jeisson Rosario when Bloom optioned him late on Thursday to make room for Trevor Story. He’s the forty ninth ranked prospect in the Red Sox organization. Good on you Brian you showed Chaim who’s the Boss. As for Whitlock ?
