Wheeling To Be Home To Wheeling Miners Football Team Of The AAL 2

The Wheeling Miners have announced that they will be playing this season as they join the American Arena League (AAL) for the season following their sudden departure from the AIF. The team, which is now known as the Wheeling Miners, will be playing their home games starting this spring at Wesbanco Arena in downtown Wheeling, looking to bring a championship back to Nail City. Co-owner of the Wheeling Miners, Mac Davis, a horse and greyhound racing owner, has high hopes for the team, saying in a statement to us, "We can't wait to welcome fans into Wesbanco arena this coming spring to celebrate and enjoy the return of arena football to town and the Ohio Valley Region."

However, the miners aren't only playing the game of football in the city of Wheeling; they are also working with the local community to build youth presence in sports and community involvement throughout the city. "Our team isn't just the local football club that plays football for the city. We are also the ones that help build the city up off the field. This season, we can't wait to be able to work with the City of Wheeling as well as with the local youth groups in the region to expand the involvement of football in the city." said Mac Davis. The Miners also look to be able to work with fans by having special events like naming the mascot and other fun events throughout the build-up to kick off for the city to participate in. "Our season ticket packages are currently on sale, with the cheapest season ticket being 55 dollars per seat. We want to bring fans from around the Wheeling Metro and Ohio Valley areas into our arena to watch our Miners play ball. Having the city involved and showing up on game day is going to be key to the team's success and bring home a championship for the Wheeling Metro Area to celebrate."

The Miners will be playing multiple home games this season, with the official season running from April all the way up to the first week of July, when the championship is, for fans to be able to come out and see the Miners play ball. "We are bringing fast-paced and high-energy football to the city of Wheeling, one that will not only showcase the skills of our players but also the energy of arena football; a Wheeling Miners arena football game is a can't-miss event." Currently, the Miners are selling only a few game tickets as they are still finalizing their schedule, but the team is offering season tickets for purchase starting at $55 and going up to $170 for front-row seating.
