West Shrine Team potential Patriots

The Patriots reward for not making the playoffs is coaching the West team in the East/West Shrine game in Vegas. While I'm sure to go back and be at the lateral location should bring great memories, the opportunity to get up close and personal with some prospects who could fit needs is exciting.

Zay Flowers (WR) BC- Although he was right in the backyard, getting a week to see Zay Flowers football IQ, work ethic, and gameplan execution is big. Zay will rise up the boards. I don't put this lightly, he's a Deebo Samuel-type player. He played more snaps outside than in the slot but brings unbelievable playmaking and versatility.

Mohamed Ibraham (RB) Minnesota- If you like what Pacheco is doing in KC, you'll love Ibraham. He runs hard, moves the pile, is good in pass protection, and can catch the ball.

Luke Schoonmaker (TE) Michigan- Inline TE who block well at the point of attack, he's used in motion and can help in short/intermediate pass game. I want to see his one on one sessions this week.

Jaxson Kirkland (OL) Washington- If it weren't for injuries, he's a Day two pick at worst. Kirkland, has versatility at LT and OG. Ideal gameday utility O-Lineman. Best fit at OG, can play RT or LT in a pinch. This video shows tough night vs a guy who went #2 overall last year.

Ricky Stromberg (OL) Arkansas- True Center with athleticism. I love the first play of snap and pull. I wouldn't be surprised to see him tried at OG in Shrine Game. It only improves his value.

Brenton Cox JR (EDGE) Formerly of Florida- They get an idea to see his demeanor, how he takes coaching, and his skill.

Habakkuk Baldonado (EDGE) Pitt- I like him as an EDGE in even front. He sets the edge well vs the run, with a variety of pass-rush moves.

Mohamoud Diabate (LB) Utah via Florida- He shows the ability to line up in multiple spots to either pressure or coverage. He's a guy who can be blitzing in A Gap or Tampa-2 MLB down the field in coverage.

Jake Moody (K) Michigan- He kicks in a lot of bad-weather stadiums in the Big 10. Here is indoors.
