The Houston Texans have hired San Francisco 49er's defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans to fill their head coaching vacancy. They came to an agreement on a 6-year contract. Ryans saying in a statement after the announcement was made:
"I have been around the game of football my entire life and I've always had a natural ability to lead others. I know what it takes to win and be successful in this league as both a player and coach. I understand the responsibility I have to this organization."
Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is headed to take the helm of the Denver Broncos. Denver is sending over to New Orleans in return a 1st round pick in 2023 and a 2nd round pick in 2024.

Nikola Jokic picked up his 16th triple-double of the season, Jamal Murray put up 32 points and the Western Conference leading Denver Nuggets handed the New Orleans Pelicans their 9th straight loss 122-113 on Tuesday night.
Philadelphia 76ers wing Matisse Thybulle is pulling some trade interest from the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings. The 76er's are entertaining offers due to looking to get themselves under the $150.3 million league threshold. There are reportedly a couple other trade candidates up that include Furkan Korkmaz and Jaden Springer, who make more than the $1.1 million Philadelphia needs to get rid of. The NBA trade deadline is February 9th.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed 2022 right-hander Tony Gonsolin. They have agreed on a 2-year contract that carries a $6.65 million price tag that will keep him there through the 2024 season.
The Toronto Blue Jays and veteran reliever Chad Green have agreed to an $8.5 million, 2-year contract.
