Grayson Rodriguez, RHP, Baltimore Orioles
Grayson Rodriguez is 22 years old and was the 11th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. He is projected to reach the majors in 2022 and is currently in Triple-A with the Norfolk Tides. Rodriguez’s fastball can reach anywhere between 95-101 MPG. His curveball and changeup is what stands out in his aresnal. He is the top prospect in Baltimore’s farm system and is the 4th best prospect in all of baseball though. Grayson Rodriguez is in line to be the top pitcher for this squad.
In 11 games pitched so far this season, his record is 5-1 with a 2.09 ERA. In 56.0 innings pitched, he has given up 33 hits and 13 runs. Grayson Rodriguez has only walked 14 batters and has struck out 80.
Daniel Espino, RHP, Cleveland Guardians
Daniel Espino is 21 years old and was the 24th overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft. He is another top prospect pitching in the Cleveland Guardians system and it is no surprise at all though. Espino is currently in Double-A with the Akron Rubberducks and is projected to reach the majors in 2023. He can be a top of their rotation as well and is also the best prospect in their farm system and 11th overall in the MLB.
Espino has a fastball that reaches 101 MPH and has a slider in the mid 80s. In four games played so far this season, his record is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA. In 18.1 innings pitched, he has given up nine hits and four runs. Daniel Espino has only walked four batters and has struck out 35.
Eury Perez, RHP, Miami Marlins
Eury Perez is only 19 years old and was signed as international free agent in 2019. He is projected to reach the majors in 2022. Perez is currently in Double-A with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. He is the best prospect in the Miami Marlins farm system and is the 16th best prospect in all of baseball. Eury Perez and Sandy Alcantrana can make a nice 1-2 punch in the starting rotation though.
His fastball is usually between 93-96 MPH, but tops at 98 MPH. He also needs to work on the secondary stuff. Perez has pitched in 12 games so far this season in the minors. His record is 3-1 with a 3.21 ERA. In 56.0 innings pitched, he has given up 40 hits and 22 runs. Eury Perez has also walked 14 batters and has struck out 77.
Jack Leiter, RHP, Texas Rangers
Jack Leiter is the son of former big leaguer Al Leiter. Jack was the second overall pick by the Texas Rangers in the 2021 MLB Draft. The Rangers are lacking starting pitching in the big leagues. He is the 17th best prospect in all of baseball and is the top prospect in Texas’s farm system though. Jack Leiter is projected to reach the majors in 2023 and is currently pitching in Double-A with the Frisco Roughriders.
He has a 90-97 MPH and throws a curveball in the 70s, but his control needs a lot of work. Jack Leiter has pitched in 13 games so far this season. He has pitched in 48.2 innings and has given up 44 hits and 39 runs. Leiter has walked 28 batters and has struck out 60.
