Time For the New England Patriots To Ride Bailey Zappe

The New England Patriots trailed the Chicago Bears 10-0 on Monday night football at home and Mac Jones just threw an interception on the third drive of the game. New England was not doing anything so Jones was benched and Bailey Zappe came in and sparked the offense. The Patriots lost the game to the Bears 33-14, but Zappe needs to be the starting quarterback moving forward.

On Bailey Zappe's first two drives, Zappe led them down the field for two touchdowns. Bailey Zappe threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Jakobi Meyers and Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for a 4-yard rushing touchdown. New England had a 14-10 lead over Chicago at that moment but the Bears were just the better football team all night long after that.

Mac Jones recently came back from an injury, but he obviously wasn't ready and Jones was being tweeted about all night. There were people saying that Mac Jones may not be with the New England Patriots next season after being drafted 15th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama.

Bailey Zappe is a fourth-round pick rookie quarterback out of Western Kentucky. It looks like he has more moxy and swagger for this offense.

Zappe completed 63.6% of his passes for 185 yards passing, one touchdown, and two interceptions. On the season, he has completed 70.7% of his passes for 781 yards passing, five touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Mac Jones completed 3-of-6 passes for 13 yards and one interception against the Chicago Bears. On the season, he has completed 65.0% of his passes for 799 yards passing, two touchdowns, and six interceptions.

There is a major difference in Bailey Zappe's completion percentage, touchdown passes, and interceptions. The yardage is pretty much the same. Head Coach Bill Belichick should just name Bailey Zappe the starting quarterback over Mac Jones for the rest of the 2022 NFL regular season.

It will also help co-offensive coordinators Joe Judge and Matt Patricia as well.

Rhamondre Stevenson also had 11 carries for 39 yards rushing and a score for the New England Patriots. He also caught eight passes for 59 yards receiving as well.

Jakobi Meyers caught two passes for 34 yards receiving and a touchdown for New England. Their leading receiver DeVante Parker caught three passes for 68 yards receiving.

The Patriots were gashed against the run all night against the Bears and couldn't stop it.

Up next, the Chicago Bears (3-4) will be on the road against the Dallas Cowboys (5-2) on Sunday, 10/30.

The New England Patriots (3-4) will be on the road against the New York Jets (5-2) on Sunday, 10/30.
