Thursday Things You Might Have Missed


NFL


  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass-rusher Shaq Barrett could possibly have suffered a torn Achilles in the 3rd quarter of Thursday's 27-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Head coach Todd Bowles did not confirm a torn Achilles in postgame but just simply stated that Barrett suffered an Achilles injury. Barrett is scheduled to get an MRI on Friday.




  • Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks with a hip injury. The 22-yer-old suffered the injury in their Week 6 game against the New Orleans Saints and then re-aggravated it during last week's win over the Atlanta Falcons. The team has said that he will not need surgery.





  • The Kansas City Chiefs have traded for wide receiver Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants in return for their conditional 3rd-round and a 6th-round pick. Giants head coach Brian Daboll later stating that the move is

"best for the team"





NBA


  • Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic pulled off a giant triple-double helping lift that Mavericks over the Brooklyn Nets in overtime 129-125. Doncic scoring 41 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds. He also set up three 3-pointers in OT sending it off to Hardaway, Kleber and Bullock. Tim Hardaway Jr. saying after the game:

“We’re just trying to do the best we can to make his job a lot easier out there on the floor when he gives the ball up, and the only way you can do that is knock down shots and take them with confidence and make a play.”




  • Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard will be out for the time being and re-evaluated in a week or 2 after he suffered a Grade 1 calf strain. Lillard suffered the injury during Wednesday's loss to the Miami Heat. The 32-year-old sustained the injury at some point in the 3rd quarter.




  • Stephen Curry scored 33 points, 9 assists and 7 rebounds as the Golden State Warriors held off the Miami Heat 123-110 on Thursday night. The Warriors are currently 3-2 and will face the Charlotte Hornets next.
