The Kansas City Chiefs Still Run the AFC West

Thursday night football between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs would be a showdown between two AFC West teams at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Kansas City took down Los Angeles by a final score of 27-24.

Once again, despite the hype of the Chargers this offseason, this is the Chiefs division in the AFC West until further notice though. With the game tied at 17 in the fourth quarter, Justin Herbert threw a pick-six that went 99 yards for a touchdown and it was returned by Jaylen Watson. Gerald Everett slipped on the route.

Speaking of Herbert, he injured his ribs for the Chargers. Justin Herbert came out for a play, but threw a touchdown pass late to Joshua Palmer from seven yards out.

In all honesty, Patrick Mahomes had a great game for the Kansas City Chiefs. He threw two touchdown passes in this football game. Mahomes threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Jerrick McKinnon in the second quarter. Mahomes also threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Justin Watson though. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the game and has yet to throw an interception in his first two games.

Justin Herbert threw two other touchdown passes in this football game for Los Angeles. He threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Zander Horvath in the second quarter and also a 15-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams in the third quarter. Williams had a big game because wide receiver Keenan Allen was out due to a hamstring injury though.

We will see how much time Herbert misses due to injury.

As for Mahomes, he could be up for potential MVP debate all season long for the Kansas City Chiefs. He is the reason why the Kansas City Chiefs will stay a top of the AFC West division until further notice despite all of the moves the rest of the division made this offseason also.

The Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) will play their next game at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) on Sunday, September 25th.

The Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) will play their next game will be on the road against the Indianapolis Colts (0-0-1) on Sunday, September 25th.
