Sunday Summary Just In Case You Missed Something

NFL

  • Yesterday, on the last day of the NFL Scouting Combine, the running backs took the field. Devon Achane out of Texas A&M put up the fastest time in the 40-yard dash with 4.32 official time. Jahmyr Gibbs out of Alabama was close behind with a 4.36.

  • As Daniel Jones agents and the Giants organization left the Combine without reaching a deal on an extension, it also appears that quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are also headed into the March 7th deadline with no deal. Both quarterbacks are expected to be hit with the franchise tag before that deadline expires.

NBA

  • Immanuel Quickley scored a career-high 38 points in his 55 minutes played, starting in place of injured Jalen Brunson, and the New York Knicks outlasted the Boston Celtics through 2 periods of OT beating them 131-129. This gave New York their season best 9th straight win.

  • Miami Heat veteran Udonis Haslem will be calling it a wrap on his extensive career at the end of this season. The 42-year-old has spent his entire career with Miami, Dwyane Wade is the only player with more games than Haslem in a Heat uniform. Haslem is the team's all-time rebounding leader and is 7th on their scoring list.

MLB

  • Philadelphia Phillies Bryce Harper says he will report to spring training on Wednesday, as his recovery from elbow surgery continues. Once he returns a clearer picture of a timeline to returning full time can be determined. The 30-year-old was injured and last played right field on April 16th in Miami.

  • The Colorado Rockies have signed veteran 3rd baseman Mike Moustakas on a minor-league deal that also came with an invitation to spring training. The 34-year-old was previously designated for assignment by the Cincinnati Reds earlier this offseason. He was entering into the last season of a 4-year, $64-million contract that had $22 million left on it.
