Sunday Summary Just In Case You Missed Something


NFL


  • The Cincinnati Bengals showed up like they had something to prove, and the Buffalo Bills uncharacteristically struggled, ending in a Bengals victory 27-10. The win sets up a rematch of last year's AFC Championship game as the Bengals will head to Kansas City to take on Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Josh Burrow threw 2 touchdowns to Ja'Marr Chase and Hayden Hurst, Joe Mixon scored on a 1-yard run, and Evan McPherson made field goals from 20 and 28 yards out. Burrow saying after the game about next weeks AFC Championship:

“It’s going to be a fun one. Two of the top guys in the league, two of the top teams in the league, great defenses, great overall teams, great coaches.”



  • The San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys game came right down to the end, as expected. It ended with a 49ers win 19-12, leaving the Cowboys with a record 7th straight loss in the divisional round of the playoffs. San Francisco will move on to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship.

NBA


  • LeBron James put up 37 points and 11 rebounds and Thomas Bryant contributed 31 points and 14 rebounds in a game that the Los Angeles Lakers were trailing by 25 points at half time. Making a strong 2nd half comeback beating the Portland Trailblazers 121-112 on Sunday night. James saying after the game:

“I guess it’s only one or two ways, you can either go out and you can lay down and get ready for the next game or you can see what happens in the third quarter, make a game of it, and for us as competitors, and our team and our makeup this year, we’re not a lay-down team. That’s just not the makeup of our club.”




  • Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac is expected to return to the court tonight against the Boston Celtics. Isaac has not played in an NBA game since tearing his ACL 3 years ago in the bubble.



  • After missing the last 7 games, Chris Paul made his return to the court on Sunday for the Phoenix Suns in their matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies. Paul finished with 22 points and 11 assists in a game that the Suns led by as much as 29 points early on. Phoenix held on grabbing the win 112-110 over Memphis.
