The Houston Texans have parted ways with head coach Lovie SMith after just 1 season. Smith had 3 years remaining on his contract and is the 2nd consecutive coach for Houston that has been let go after 1 season.
There has been much speculation surrounding the coaching staff of the New England Patriots and what the next season may bring. Head coach Bill Belichick made some clarification as to what his thought on that are. The 70-year-old stated that he is not considering retirement and saying on Sunday:
"The process will start today. Nobody's satisfied with (finishing 8-9). That's not our goal. We need to improve on that."
San Francisco 49er's rookie quarterback threw multiple touchdown passes for the 6th straight game. Purdy had 3 touchdowns in the 49er's win on Sunday over the Arizona Cardinals 38-13 giving San Fran its 10th straight win, clinching the No.2 seed in the NFC playoffs.

Brooklyn Nets star, Kevin Durant, had to leave Sundays game against the Miami Heat during the 3rd quarter due to a knee injury. The 34-year-old went down after Miami Heat wing Jimmy Butler landed on his knee. Head coach Jacque Vaughn stating the Durant is likely headed for an MRI on Monday. The Nets held on barely beating Miami 102-101.
The Toronto Raptors broke a 3 game losing streak beating the Portland Trail Blazers 117-105 on Sunday. Pascal Siakam scored 27 points, Scottie Barnes contributed 22. The Trail Blazers committed a season-worst 24 turnovers, leading to 29 points for Toronto.

Chicago White Sox closer, Liam Hendricks, very unfortunately announcing on SUnday that he has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The 33-year-old saying that he will begin cancer treatment on Monday.
