Saturday synopsis just in case you missed something

NFL

  1. The Buffalo Bills faced major backlash from the general public and within the organization for giving Matt Araiza the punting job. Saturday doing some major back peddling and in fact releasing Araiza. The decision comes 2 days after the lawsuit accusing him and 2 others of a gruesome sexual assault. General manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott answered questions in a 26 minute long news conference. Beane saying :

“The last 48 hours have been very difficult for a lot of people. It’s been tough. And you know, we sympathize with this whole situation, all the parties involved, this young woman, what she went through, but at this time, we just think it’s the best move for everyone to move on from Matt and let him take care of this situation and focus on that. So, we’re gonna part ways there”
Bills GM Brandon Beane says that neither his team nor the league knew of the allegations that Matt Araiza was part of a gang rape of a 17-year-old girl pre-draft. Added they’d reached out to “double-digit teams” to ask if they knew then, and none of them knew either. — Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) August 28, 2022
