Saturday Shenanigans You Might Have Missed



NFL


  • Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper will play on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, as long as there not any pregame setbacks. The 28-year-old was a limited participant in practice throughout the week as he continues to nurse a hip injury. He was previously listed as questionable for Sunday's game.



  • Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is expected to play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Lawrence did return to practice Friday, although a limited participant, after missing the 1st 2 practices of the week because of a toe injury. The 23-year-old suffered the injury while going down during a sack late in the 1st half of last weeks loss to the Detroit Lions. He did miss a few plays but ultimately did return to the game.



  • Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney will not play on Sunday against the Denver Broncos siting a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old has missed the last 2 games with the injury. The team is hopeful to see his return in week 15 against the Houston Texans.





MLB


  • The New York Mets and free-agent right-hander Kodai Senga have come to an agreement on a 5 year, $75-million contract. The is pending a physical.



  • The New York Yankees are preparing to make an offer to 30-year-old, free-agent, left-hander Carlos Rodon. He is reportedly looking for at least 7 years and $100-million or more in a contract.





NHL


  • Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang returned to the ice on Saturday for their 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Less then 2 weeks ago the 35-year-old suffered the 2nd stroke of his career. Letang led all Penguins skaters with over 22 minutes on the ice.



  • Saturday came with the announcement that the 2023 Heritage Classic between the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames will be played outdoors for the 1st time at Commonwealth Stadium. A date for the event has not been set yet.
