If baseball’s winter meetings were being held this week as scheduled, I would have likely been in Orlando, Florida, with the rest of the baseball world. Part of the throng of writers – reporters – columnists and talking heads looking to scoop one another for the juiciest free agent rumors’ – inside info on trades, whispers and handshake agreements on players to be named later. Wait who am I kidding, you all know I HATE Florida. FLA is the least favorite foreign country i’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to East Germany. In the 80’s.
But travel destinations be damned . The Winter Meetings are not being held in Orlando or anyplace else this year. This year we are discussing career minor leaguers who inked AAA deals and Buck Showalter to the METs rumors. Lockout Deadline deals to bring Jackie Bradley Jr. back to Boston and watching talking heads lose their minds over the price Chaim Bloom paid to do so. And of all things the rule five draft. In short . Baseball fans are in hell.
Here’s a smattering of the Hot Stove talk happening on the Tweety Bird app

UPDATED: Mike Cameron. Added new mailing address (his baseball academy). DYK Cameron was 1st player in baseball history with one-or-more multi-homer games with eight different #MLB teams? Wow thanks Baseball Academy
The alphabet soup stat happy crowd and Historians are the only crews still happy in these parts. It gives them more time to dive into the way-back machines or dive into FIPS – XFips – WAR – PreWar- PostWAR numbers of players that are between the ages of nine and twenty two that no one has ever or will ever hear of. Hell this is Hell.
