Relax Red Sox Nation Boston Brings Back Travis Shaw

Sources: Red Sox have re-signed Travis Shaw. — Chris Cotillo (@ChrisCotillo) March 18, 2022

Yes folks have no fear Travis Shaw is here. Early this morning Mass Lives Chris Cotillo put Red Sox Nation’s minds to rest. Boston has a Lefty Swinger to man first base and the team has confirmed that Shaw is returning on a minor league deal to possibly platoon with Bobby Dalbec.

Bringing Travis Shaw gives the #RedSox a LHH to platoon with Bobby Dalbec at 1B. Between Shaw’s return and Dalbec working on his versatility, feels like Triston Casas could be in the bigs rather quickly.#DirtyWater | #MLB pic.twitter.com/zrBfLTCJfq — Tyler Milliken ⚾️ (@tylermilliken_) March 18, 2022

Shaw will  turn 32 next month. After  struggling through his second stint with the Brewers last season, the Brew crew let him walk and the Sox picked him up as a waiver claim. Big Trav made 48 plate appearances  slashing  .238/.319/.524 down the stretch with Boston. He hit three round trippers and had eleven RBI to help push Boston into the playoffs. With no real first base backup on Boston’s bench Shaw gives Alex Cora a left handed bat to back up Dalbec until the team sees fit to call up wunderkind Tristan Casas from AAA. Shaw will also get time at DH when J.D Martinez needs a day off or god forbid has to miss any time on the DL .  And you were all upset over Freddie Freeman going to the Dodgers ?
