Red Sox Run Into Godzilla Drop their first on West Coast.

The Red Sox had won their first six games on this west coast trip, first sweeping the AAA’s up in Oaktown then taking the first two from the LA California Angels of Orange County , Nick Pivetta was on the hill. You know Nick Pavetta he’s the guy with the 5-0 record and an ERA of 1.32 ERA over his last six starts. Needless to say this writer felt pretty good even with Shohei Ohtani on the hill for the Halos.

Through the first four innings we all got the pitching duel we all wanted and expected. Save Nick working gout of a bases loaded jam in the second Both Othani and Pivetta were dealing. The Sox had managed to take a 1-0 lead on a Bobby Dalbec sac fly in the top of the fifth that scored Franchy Cordero, in the bottom half of the inning Othani showed why he was the MVP last year, breaking the Angels out of their slump with a two run shot to center.

Pivetta walked the first two of the sixth and Cora chose to pull pretty Nicky for Hirokazu Sawamura who promptly gave up a three run danger to the worst hitter on the Angels roster Andrew Velazquez. An eleven strikeout performance shot to hell with a wrong call to the pen. The walks seemed to bother Pivetta more than the shot he gave up to Othani

#RedSox finally drop one, but this series was a massive win. Took 3 out of 4 and got Devers, Bogaerts, and Story all a day off before going up against the #Mariners. Not going to win them all. Just finish this road trip strong and keep it moving.#DirtyWater| #MLB — Tyler Milliken ⚾️ (@tylermilliken_) June 10, 2022

Drive Up the coast

The Sox (30-28) are 6-1 on this trip as they head up to the fish market for a three game set against the (26-31) Mariners. They are 7-3 in their last ten and 19-8 over their last 27. And have taken hold of the third wildcard slot , Not too shabby for a team that was dead and buried 3 weeks ago. Let’s hope the good times can keep rolling. I’m enjoying the root beer floats.
