Red Sox Kluber try To Salvage One Win vs Pirates

Through five games the red sox (lower case lets keep it real here) sit at 2-3 and as a team have a 6.40 ERA … Six Point Four Zero. How did they win 2 ? It’s a miracle. But here they sit. Looking to salvage just one win vs The Pirates . The Pirates. Who were predicted to lose anywhere between 90 and 100 games, depending on your reading material. And finish at or near the bottom of the N.L Central this season. Bottom line, this team is not good. And neither are the Red Sox. Nick Pivetta has the teams only quality start to date and he took the L yesterday 4 -1

Cy Young winner Corey Kluber . Excuse me two time Cy Young Winner Corey Kluber is scheduled to make his second start of the season for Boston on Today at 1:35 at Fenway. Kluber (0-1, 13.50 ERA) gave up five runs on six hits and walked four in 3 1/3 innings against the Orioles in his first outing losing the Red Sox season opener 10-9. Kluber served up 2 home runs in the contest (seems to be a theme here in Boston) but looks to get back on track this afternoon. And maybe just maybe pull the Sox out of the cellar they currently share with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Pirates have hit Five home runs in the first two games of this series, here lies the Red Sox biggest issue to date. The Sox have given up 12 long balls in their first five games of the season. Five of them off the top of this rotation arms of Chris Sale and Kluber. In just 6.1 innings of work between the two. Kluber, who I showed above gave up 2 in his first outing is going to have to turn this beat around if the Sox are to take at best one of these three. Before heading off to the Motor City to face the Tigers, in the first of a seven game road trip that includes a 4 game set in Tampa.
