Red Sox can't Survive on Devers Alone
I’m beginning to get tired of free baseball. For the second straight night the Sox fell to the Rockies in extras. Monday they fell 4-3. Tuesday’s 7-6 loss hit even harder as the Sox should have won this in 9. Colorado came into this series 11-21 on the road - Eleven and Twenty One. thirteen games under .500. And this Sox team can’t seem to find a way to beat them?
After taking 2 of 3 in the Bronx over the weekend they all had to feel good. No matter how it happened it happened. But as .500 ball clubs do. The Sox couldn't ride even a mini wave of momentum into this six game homestand. Maybe this team thinks it’s good enough to play the kind of sloppy D it has been or the bats are good enough to pull them out of anything. But by now, at this stage of the season. They should know better. I know you all do. 2-11 with RISP last night by the way.... Get off Verdugo's ass this would have been a long way to slide.
You can't Live on Devers Alone
Rafael Devers went 2-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss. It was Raffy’s third and fourth homers over his last twenty at bats. After going through an almost three week power outage Devers now has 17 home runs and an MLB-leading 56 RBI in just 65 games. But through all his efforts this team is still 3-7 in its last ten games. Sitting two games under .500 on the season and one game under .500 both on the road and at home. Pathetic. That's the only word i can use to describe this “ Team “
