Red Sox are 7-3 in their last Ten and Traffic on the Tobin is Moving

This past week has been a godsend to Red Sox Nation. The Sox are 7-3 in their last ten games and everyone is starting to hit – pitch and play defense.

Trevor Story has awoken .320/5/12 with 4 base swipes over his last seven games. Nick Pivetta is forcing Alex Cora into skipping the bullpen. Jackie Bradley Jr is batting .267 (This week ) and launched his first dinger of the season, sealing the Sox latest win over the Mariners last night. The defense looks amazing, and Cora is pushing the right bullpen buttons.

"It feels good right now, but like they say and when they talk in the meetings, we've got to keep working and getting better." Alex Cora on the Red Sox 7-3 win over the Mariners.#RedSox | https://t.co/sl8J2jXXRR pic.twitter.com/pMNDtaxYZv — NESN (@NESN) May 21, 2022

So why don’t I feel better ? The Sox are out of last place, A full game and a half in front of the Orioles. And are just 5 games under.500. Oops there we go. May 21st and the Sox are five games under .500 – 11 ½ games behind the bloody Yankees and 4 games out of a wildcard spot. Oh and Xander Bogaerts left last night’s game after colliding with Alex Verdugo. He’s day to day with back soreness ,  That’s why I’m not happy.

Xander Bogaerts came out of the game for a pinch hitter after this play. Really hoping everything is alright. This team needs him.#RedSox | #DirtyWater pic.twitter.com/mqK3EyJWXM — Boston Sports Gordo (@BOSSportsGordo) May 21, 2022

The recent resurgence has backed me off the edge of the Tobin and gives me hope. Sure if Trevor Story keeps raking, He’s has bumped his average up to a season high .231. If people keep telling Kike it’s October and the clutch gene stays in the on position. And if Xander and Raffy keep doing Bogaerts and Devers type things, this could end up being an interesting climb back into it. But I was raised in the 70’s. So forgive me if I don’t lose my mind over a decent start to a homestand. But let’s leave this on a high note shall we ? Ryan Brasier was sent down. and Wednesday is still Prince spaghetti day
