Patriots pre-camp 53 man roster (Offense)

QB (3) Mac Jones, Brian Hoyer, Bailey Zappe

Jones- Starter

Hoyer- Weekly Backup

Zappe- Redshirt plan if everyone is healthy.  Think Mallett 2011

RB (4) Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stephenson, Pierre Strong, Ty Montgomery

Harris- Part of the back rotation

Stephenson- Part of the rotation, as the season moves on, his percentage of carries goes up.

Strong- I say this a lot, it all comes down to his pass protection performance.  Could have some inactives.

Montgomery- Did you know he’s a gunner and really good at it.  He’s an RB/WR/KR.  Great gameday guy because of multiple roles.

WR (5)  Kendrick Bourne, Devante Parker, Nelson Agholor, Tyquan Thornton, Tre Nixon

Bourne- He will be the key guy in the group.  He’ll have unique touches on top of targets.

Parker- The boundary guy who once tore apart 1 pm Gilmore.

Agholor- He can be moved around, too much outside time last season.

Thornton- The speed guy who actually has a clue in camp to the system.  Just so everyone knows, the Steelers had him ranked over Pickens.

Nixon- The Ernie Adams pick.  Slot option but can get deep out of the slot.  Let’s see how a year in the classroom translates.

TE (3) Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Dalton Keene

Henry- We know his skillset.

Smith- He went through a lot last season.  It’s time to find him matchups and come up with unique formations to mismatch defenses.

Keene- I know, his health.  What he brings is versatility as an H-Back type.  He’s the FB in Goalline.

OL (9)  Trent Brown, Cole Strange, David Andrews, Mike Onwenu, Yodny Cajuste, Justin Herron, Darryl Williams, Will Sherman, Andrew Stueber

Brown- Where he belongs, at LT.  Can he stay healthy?

Strange- Plug and play, Needs to work on anchor but will be great on screens and outside.

Andrews- You know

Onwenu- I like him at RG, he’s the RT if things don’t work out.

Cajuste- This is really his 2nd year.  It might be my personal like that has him here but I’ve seen his abilities healthy.

Herron- Swing Tackle

Williams- I’m a huge Williams fan.  He’s Andrews’s backup with the versatility to move around inside.

Sherman- One year in the classroom, time to play.

Stueber- Very solid run blocker, needs to work on pass pro.  An absolute steal at the end of the draft.

Tuesday- Defense

Wed- I’ll answer criticism and explain the construction.
