EDGE (4) Matthew Judon, Josh Uche, Ronnie Perkins, Anfernee Jennings
Judon- This Defense need him to be the Judon of Early/Mid 2021. That helps the Secondary, so they can straighten out the rotation.
Uche- Hopeful bulk to be more of a contributor on early downs. He shows flashes and has some competition.
Perkins- He had a year in the “where is this guy” situation in the bowles of Gillette. I’d like to see the 3 guys already listed here with Barmore in pass rush situations.
Jennings- 2021 was spent on IR. Let’s see if time in the building helped a guy who fits well on early downs/Special Teams.
IDL (5) Christian Barmore, Deatrich Wise, Davon Godchaux, Lawrence Guy, Sam Roberts
Barmore- He may be the most important guy on the roster. Interior pass rush gets QB off the spot and changes everything.
Wise- Jack of many trade, Master of none.
Godchaux- He needs to be an early down presence, not being pushed near the 1st down markers.
Guy- I have him on the bubble. The Pats need to have him on a pitch count to be most effective.
Roberts- He may have some inactives, a guy you won’t get to PS. He blocks kicks from the interior, Bill loves that stuff.
LB (5) Raekwon McMillan, Cameron McGrone, Mack Wilson, Ja’Whaun Bentley, Jahlani Tavai
McMillan- If no injury in 2021, he was going to be a key guy by the end of the year. 3-down ability.
McGrone- He’s a different level of speed at the LB level. He’ll mix it up despite size and makes impact plays.
Wilson- Great trade, he’s another guy who can play in sub-package with the many safties.
Bentley- Downhill thumper, Leader.
Tavai- Special teams and is here for the reason that Matt Patricia wants to prove he was right on this player to Detroit.
CB (5) Jalen Mills, Jonathan Jones, Marcus Jones, Jack Jones, Myles Bryant
Mills- The Patriots like to match up, saavy veteran who does have his slip ups.
Jon Jones- Slot Corner who has been very solid over time.
Marcus Jones- He might be the most exciting guy on the roster. He’s not just a slot guy and an explosive returner.
Jack Jones- This is the guy to watch. He’s got a chance to be a better J.C Jackson.
Myles Bryant- He’s a backup slot and has some safety experience.
S (5) Devin McCourty, Kyle Dugger, Adrian Phillips, Jabrill Peppers, Joshuah Bledsoe
McCourty- This might be his last year. He is that last line and leader.
Dugger- He does so many things great. Tackle, rush, cover and a nose for the ball.
Phillips- Versatile with the ability to play at Safety or 2nd level.
Peppers- Like the 2 players above, VERSATILITY. The scheme should be fun to watch.
Bledsoe- He might have some inactives and ST time when he plays. This guy was a steal in 2021.
ST (5) Matt Slater, Nick Folk, Jake Bailey, Joe Cardona, Cody Davis
Slater- Nothing needs to be said.
Folk- His consistency over the last couple of years has been mind-blowing.
Bailey- We need the old Jake Bailey back in 2022. He was a weapon, lets get back to that spot.
Davis- Core 4 ST.
