Oneil Cruz Hits hardest Ball in MLB History

122.4 MPH 😱 No-one has hit a baseball harder in the Statcast era than Oneil Cruz did last night#MLB #LetsGoBucs #MLBEurope pic.twitter.com/2ouYKgToJR — MLB Europe (@MLBEurope) August 25, 2022

Dateline Pittsburgh : Hopped up on Primanti brothers sandwiches and attitude Oneil Cruz of the Pittsburgh Pirates broke the record book and possibly the sound barrier with the hardest hit ball possibly in major league baseball history.

3 innings into his 2022 debut, @Pirates' Oneil Cruz has registered: 🏴‍☠️The hardest throw by an infielder in @MLB this year (96.7 mph) 🏴‍☠️The hardest hit ball of the year by a Pirate (112.9) 🏴‍☠️The 3 fastest sprint speeds of the year by a Pirate (31.5, 30.7, 30.3) pic.twitter.com/nScTK5mD4A — MLB Pipeline (@MLBPipeline) June 21, 2022

The 23 year old 6’7’’ Dominican shortstop came into 2022 as one of the best prospects in baseball and has flashed his incredible bat speed on a few occasions. But those occasions have been few and far between. He also possesses one of the best arms in the game and wheels for days. It will be scary if this kid gets it together. But as of today he is slashing an anaemic.198/.249/.402  line. He does have 10 HR and 30 RBI in 52 games in the show this season.

Oneil Cruz got a rocket for an arm 🔥 Hardest throw by an infielder this season: 96.7 MPH 😱 @MLB pic.twitter.com/PKv3SmeBt9 — B/R Walk-Off (@BRWalkoff) June 21, 2022

What does this have to do with the price of tea in Boston ? not much to be honest. I just thought it was cool to see a Yankee get ripped from the stat cast record books ( chuckling to myself )
