Monster American League Wildcard Roundup

Well folks the Rays and Jays managed the same number of postseason wins as you, I or any team that didn't make it into the NHL i mean MLB playoffs. Excuse me while I chuckle my Boston Irish ass off . okay here we go

Guardians advance

This by far was my favorite game yesterday. It took 15 innings for either team to score, but Guardians rookie Oscar Gonzalez took matters into his own hands . A loud walk-off homer in the bottom of the 15th sent the Guardians to a 1-0 win as they advanced to the ALDS to match up with the Yankees, and the Rays got a quick trip back to Tampa . There i go , chuckling again.

It was a pitcher's duel in Game 2 . the Guardians' Triston McKenzie went six full and struck out 8. and the Rays' Tyler Glasnow went five striking out 5. Each gave up just 2 hits. .Sam Henteges, the 8th Cleveland pitcher of the day, went three innings and struck out six to earn the win The Rays scored a total of one run in 24 innings. You cant wipe the smile from my face. This game was epic. a 1-0 Epic postseason contest I will remember forever.

Mariners Send Jays South for the Winter

For the first time since 2001, the Mariners are playing meaningful games in October. And i just want to say thank you.. After winning Game one Friday 4-0 , Seattle fell behind 8-1 in game two and for all intents and purposes it looked like game three was going to happen. But instead, Baseball happened. Carlos Santana went yard in the sixth and all of a sudden it was 8-5. The Jays managed a run in the seventh to make it 9-5. Then the wheels came off. Anthony Bass came in and gave up three straight hits. Jays Closer Jordan Romero came in with the score 9-6 and got back to back K’s. but that wasn't going to keep J.P Crawford down. With bases loaded he hit a dying quail into center that Bo Bichette raced back for. The issue was George Springer wanted it too. And Bichette didn't hear or ignored his center fielder. And the two collided. Crawford had cleared the bases and tied the score with a flare. The Jays went down in order. The Mariners were not going to let this go to extras.A double by Raleigh got them going and with two outs Frazier doubled him home for the 10-9 lead and eventually the win. Rookie George Kirby got the W.

So there you have it … Three teams from the vaunted AL East made the postseason under the “New Rules.” Two sent him winless. Lets hope this is a pattern that keeps going. The Indians will take on the Yankees and the Mariners will travel to Houston. Both series begin on tuesday and i can;t wait.
