Monday Moments You Might Have Missed
NFL
Monday night football ended with another disappointing Denver Broncos loss to the Los Angeles Rams in overtime 19-16. It also ended with quarterback Russell Wilson suffering a hamstring injury at some point during the game. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett did mention the injury in post game but did not elaborate on the severity of the injury.
Tua Tagovailoa has cleared concussion protocol and will prepare during practice this week as the starter, assuming all goes well he will take the field Sunday night against the Pittsburg Steelers. The Miami Dolphins have not won a game since Tus suffered the concussion on September 29th. Head coach Mike McDaniel had this to say about it:
“He’s a captain for a reason. I think he’s a very, very good player at that position. Very good players, they definitely give people a boost, not because of what other people aren’t, but because he is who he is.”
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay confirming on Monday that they are engaged in trade talks involving Cam Akers. Akers was a 2020 2nd round pick but missed out on almost all of the 2021 season due to an achilles tear. McVay saying in a Monday press conference :
"As of right now, I think the best option for all parties I think would be to explore if there's a good situation for him with another team. If that doesn't come to fruition, I would never say that him coming back and figuring out the best way to be able utilize him and him being the best player he's capable of is off the table, I would never speak in absolutes like that."

The St. Louis Cardinals and general manager Michael Girsch have come to an agreement on a multi-year contract extension. The 44-year-olds contract was set to run out at the end of the World Series. He has led the Cardinals to 4 playoff appearances as well as 2 division titles during his tenure, he has been with the team since 2017.
Shohei Ohtani, 2-way Japanese star returned home and rightfully so had a few critical things to say about the Los Angeles Angels season :
“It was a good season for me personally. I have to say that August and September in particular felt longer to me than last year. We were not able to play as many good games as we would like — including 14 consecutive losses. So I have a rather negative impression of this season.”
Monday night's highly anticipated game 5 between the Cleveland Guardians and the New York Yankees was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be added to this evenings lineup.
