As expected, today when Derek Carr is officially released from the Las Vegas Raiders there is a handful of teams ready to pursue the veteran quarterback. The New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, and Carolina Panthers are all among the teams interested in signing the 31-year-old.
The Baltimore Ravens are hiring Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Todd Monken to serve as their new offensive coordinator. The 57-year-old has been with Georgia since 2020, playing a key role in their back-to-back National Championships in 2021-2022.
The Carolina Panthers have added even more experience to their coaching staff. They have hired Jim Caldwell as their senior assistant. The 68-year-old has been a coach for both the Detroit Lions and the Indianapolis Colts.

The Denver Nuggets picked up their 40th win and snapped the Miami Heat's 8 game winning streak with a 112-108 victory on Monday night. Nikola Jokic led the way for Denver with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists.
The list of players that will participate in the 3-point contest during All-Star weekend is complete. Jayson Tatum, Buddy Hield, Tyrese Haliburton, Lauri Markkanen, Kevin Huerter, Tyler Herro, Damian Lillard, and Anfernee Simons all made the list.
The New York Knicks snapped their 9-game losing streak against the Brooklyn Nets 124-106. Jalen Brunson scored 40 points, Josh Hart contributed a season-high 27 in his 2nd game with his new team. This was the 1st time in 3 years that the Knicks beat the Nets.

MLB's joint competition committee has unanimously approved the permanent implementation of the automatic runner in extra innings. Seemingly putting an end to the long marathon extra-inning games. The rule will continue to apply only during the regular season. Extra-inning postseason games will still start with the bases empty.
New York Yankees left-hander Nestor Cortes has withdrawn from the World Baseball Classic, siting a right hamstring strain. The 28-year-old was named to Team USA's roster just last week. He did state that the injury is a low Grade 2 strain, also adding that he will stay off the mound for at least the next 2 weeks but will remain in camp with the Yankees.
