MLB Free Agent Frenzy Starts

Mets owner Steve Cohen flashed his bankroll Monday afternoon, ripped off a hundred and thirty million off the top and tossed it down in front of Max Scherzer. And Max Scherzer picked it up and said thank you very much see you in Port St. Lucie. That’s 43.3 MILLION dollars for a man who is about to turn 37. Then 43.3 Million dollars for a man who will be 38 and again at 39, Unreal. See what you’ve started Tom Brady? Cohen also shelled out pocket change to infielder Eduardo Escobar, utility player Mark Canha, and outfielder Starling Marte.

The Mets are finalizing a deal to bring eight-time All-Star pitcher Max Scherzer to New York in a three-year, $130-million contract, according to media reports ⚾️ — Reuters (@Reuters) November 30, 2021

Corey Seager and the Texas Rangers are in agreement on a 10-year, $325M deal, per @JeffPassan — FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) November 29, 2021

The Rangers also have chosen to jump into the deep end of the pool inking shortstop Corey Seager to a ten year 325 Million dollar deal. That came after signing second baseman Marcus Semien to a seven year deal worth a reported 175 Million. A four-year 56 million deal to  Right-Hander Jon Gray and 5.2 million to Outfielder Kole Calhoun over the weekend. That’s 550 Million dollars in three days for a team that is tired of playing second fiddle in the great state of Texas,

BREAKING: Right-hander Kevin Gausman and the Toronto Blue Jays are in agreement on a five-year, $110 million contract, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN. — Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) November 29, 2021

Toronto has made everyone in LA happy and everyone in Boston but Chaim Bloom nervous landing thirty year old right-hander Kevin Gusman to a five year 110 million dollar deal ,Nice to hit free agency coming off the best season of your professional career. He went 14-6 with a 2.81 ERA (145 ERA+), 1.04 WHIP and 227 strikeouts in 129 innings for the Giants.

Hold on for dear life

The deals will be coming fast over the next two days as the collective bargaining agreement is set to expire on Wednesday and teams will be unable to sign free agents until a new deal is struck, this could take months and I’m told could even push the start of spring training back.
