The Official Michinoku Pro Wrestling Channel is now presenting Michinoku Pro Wrestling LIVE #23, the latest edition of their YouTube program. Michinoku Pro Wrestling LIVE shows take place at the Michinoku Pro Dojo in Iwate, Japan.
Existing since 1993, Michinoku Pro was created with Iwate in mind, so many events in Iwate feature matches that are not seen anywhere else in the country. Michinoku Pro hosts shows at their dojo regularly but occasionally will stream a show live via YouTube as well.
Match 1: Banana Senga & Rui Hyugaji vs. Ayumu Gunji & MUSASHI
A Triple Crown Tag Team Champion, Banana Senga comes into this match with the most tag team experience. But even though Rui Hyugaji has been more focused on his singles career in recent years (where he has seen the most success), he has a history with Gunji as a tag team wrestler. It was only a number of years ago that they were tag team partners, and they were a very successful team, capturing both the Tohoku Tag Team Championship and UWA World Tag Team Championship. It will be interesting to see if their familiarity with each other plays a role in this match. MUSASHI is the Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion (having had defeated Hyugaji for the championship) in his second reign, and MUSASHI also has tag team success on his resume, as a former Tohoku Tag Team Champion, with Gunji as his partner.
Match 2: Guts Ishijima vs. Koji Kawamura
This match features a special guest in the dojo, as Guts Ishijima from Total Triumph Team (TTT) faces Koji Kawamura. Ishijima is the current TTT Indie Unified Openweight Champion, the second and longest-reigning holder of this championship. A win for Koji Kawamura would make an impression.
Match 3: Koji Kawamura & Taro Nohashi vs. Momoka Hanazono & Yasutaka Oosera
Although half of the Triple Crown Tag Champions with GAINA, in this match Taro Nohashi teams with Koji Kawamura to go against Momoka Hanazono & Yasutaka Oosera. Usually Oosera teams with Kawamura, but in this match his partner is a special guest in the dojo. Hanazono has appeared in many other promotions as well, including DDT, BJW, FMW-E, and WAVE. The match ends in a double countout, which leads to a “Falls Count Anywhere Hardcore” match.
