Michinoku Pro Wrestling LIVE #19

The Official Michinoku Pro Wrestling Channel is now presenting Michinoku Pro Wrestling LIVE #19, the latest edition of their YouTube program. Michinoku Pro Wrestling LIVE shows take place at the Michinoku Pro Dojo in Iwate, Japan.

Existing since 1993, Michinoku Pro was created with Iwate in mind, so many events in Iwate feature matches that are not seen anywhere else in the country. Michinoku Pro hosts shows at their dojo regularly but occasionally will stream a show live via YouTube as well.

Match 1: Ayumu Gunji vs. Rekka

Ayumu Gunji is a member of a group of young wrestlers that consider themselves to be the new generation of Michinoku Pro. This group has been having an ongoing battle with the established members of the roster. He has held the Tohoku Tag Team Championship on two occasions, as well as the UWA World Tag Team Championship.

Although Rekka is not an established member of the Michinoku Pro roster, he definitely is an ally. Rekka teamed with Rui Hyugaji and Rasse at a Michinoku Pro event in December 2021 to go against new generation members MUSASHI, Koji Kawamura, and Yasutaka Oosera.

Match 2: The Great Sasuke vs. Taro Nohashi vs. Koji Kawamura in a “Three Way” Match

When it comes to established members of the Michinoku Pro roster, there is no better representative than The Great Sasuke. A legend in the industry, he is the founder of Michinoku Pro, where Sasuke is a 3-time former Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion and a 4-time Tohoku Tag Team Champion. Outside of Michinoku Pro, he became the original holder of the J-Crown, a unification of eight different titles from eight different companies worldwide. Sasuke also was the longest-reigning NWA World Middleweight Champion in the Championship’s history and is a former UWA World Tag Team Champion. Now recovered from corona, Sasuke is back in action.

Taro Nohashi is another established member. A part of the Michinoku Pro roster for 17 years, he is one of the favorites of Michinoku Pro fans. Nohashi is a former Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion (Michinoku Pro’s singles champion), and currently co-holds the UWA World Tag Team Championship and Kyushu Pro Tag Team Championship.

Koji Kawamura has two huge opportunities coming his way next month. On March 6, Kawamura will wrestle MUSASHI for the Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Championship. And then on March 19, he will team with Yasutaka Oosera to face GAINA & Taro Nohashi for the UWA World Tag Team Championship, a Championship with 40 years of history behind it and has been defended in Japan and Mexico.
