Michinoku Pro 5/3/22 Fukushima City Event! Golden Week series 2022!

Updated April 27

The wrestlers of Michinoku Pro will be in action on May 3 at Will Fukushima Acty Oroshimachi in Fukushima City, as a part of Golden Week series 2022.

Match 1: Manabu Murakami vs. Ayumu Gunji

With Manabu Murakami being on the roster for 19 years, he has had a very successful career in the company. Murakami is the second longest-reigning Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion of all time.

As a member of New Generation, a group of young wrestlers that consider themselves to be the new generation of Michinoku Pro, Ayumu Gunji has been having an ongoing battle with the established members of the roster. He has focused on tag teaming in the past during his career, holding the Tohoku Tag Team Championship on two occasions, as well as the UWA World Tag Team Championship. A victory for Gunji would be a boost to his singles career.

Match 2: The Great Sasuke vs. Rasse

A big factor in this match is Rasse’s past with The Great Sasuke- although Rasse is most successful in tag team competition, Rasse holds a singles win over Sasuke.

MATCH 3: YAPPERMAN NO. 1 & NO. 2 VS. BRAHMAN SHU & BRAHMAN KEI

Not only are both teams very familiar with each other, but they are the two most decorated teams in Michinoku Pro’s history. Both teams have held the Tohoku Tag Team Championship, with Yapperman No. 1 & No. 2 having the second-longest reign, and Brahman Shu & Kei capturing it more times than any other team. And both teams have held the UWA World Tag Team Championship, with Yapperman No. 1 & No. 2 having the longest reign, and capturing that championship more times than any other team as well, while Brahman Shu & Kei are the second-longest reigning UWA World Tag Team Champions. Both teams have almost equal levels of success, and this match could go either way.

MATCH 4: RUI HYUGAJI VS. KEN45

You can see a preview of this match by watching Michinoku Pro Wrestling Live #20, which features a Ryu Hyugagi-Ken45 match from February. They are very familiar with each other, having had been in the ring together as opponents and tag team partners multiple times over the past 13 years.

MATCH 5: MUSASHI & KOJI KAWAMURA VS. GAINA & TARO NOHASHI

This will be the second match at this event that will focus on New Generation vs. established members of the roster. MUSASHI of New Generation stands at the top of the Michinoku Pro mountain as Tohoku Junior Heavyweight Champion in his second reign, but the faction has been unable to dominate the tag team division, as GAINA & Taro Nohashi are the Triple Crown Tag Champions. The championship will not be on the line in this match, but surely MUSASHI and his New Generation ally Koji Kawamura plan on defeating GAINA & Nohashi in an attempt to gain a shot at the championship down the road. GAINA & Nohashi however, plan on showing why they have the most legitimate tag team championship in pro-wrestling in their possession.
