Kansas City Chiefs’ DE Frank Clark arrested on suspicion of concealed weapon

Los Angeles: Kansas City Chiefs Pro-Bowl defensive end Frank Clark was arrested in LA Sunday Night for criminal possession of a firearm. Clark, 28 was pulled over for a vehicle code violation in his Lamborghini Truck.

At that time, officers noticed an Uzi Sub-Machine gun sticking out of a bag in his trunk.  He was taken into custody and charged with allegedly carrying a canceled firearm in his car.  Clark was booked into LA County Jail Sunday night but was released on Monday after posting bond on a $35,000 bail order.  He is due back in court to face charges on Monday, October 18th.

Clark was a key contributor to the Chiefs’ two Super Bowl runs and was named to two Pro-bowls since his trade from Seattle in 2019. Clark had 29 tackles and six sacks in 2020. He has 49 sacks since entering the league – eight of them coming in Kansas City’s two Super Bowl runs.

“We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the NFL’s personal conduct policy,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said.

While still at Michigan, Clark was arrested for domestic violence in 2014 after an incident at the Maui Sands Hotel in Sandusky, Ohio, and was removed from the team shortly thereafter.  He later plead guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct.  Also reported by the KC Star: Clark was also arrested in March, along with another man, when officers said they found two loaded firearms in their vehicle after a traffic stop.

The Seahawks drafted Clark in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft with the 63 overall selection. Seattle then traded the DE to the Chiefs in 2019 for a first-round pick and a swap of third-round picks in that year’s draft, and a 2020 second-round pick
