Information on Blake Li, the Opponent of Hook On, “AEW Rampage” This Week

This week on “AEW Rampage”, Blake Li made his AEW debut in a match against Hook. It was Li’s first appearance in a match on national television.

Last week, there were reports that, “Blake Li” is also known as independent wrestler Parker Li, but this is not the case. Outside of AEW, Blake Li wrestles as, “Shoot Taylor”.

Blake Li has a very successful background in amateur wrestling, becoming a 2-time county champion, region runner-up, east metro champion, 3-time State qualifier, and a state placer. He was awarded best wrestler by foreign exchange students and was a 3-time MVP for his team.

Blake Li began pro-wrestling training while in high school. He has a promo video about his transition from amateur wrestling to pro-wrestling.

Blake Li has wrestled in many promotions in the southeastern region of the United States, including the Alabama-based New South Pro Wrestling, and Georgia-based Platinum Championship Wrestling (PCW), Face 2 Face Wrestling, Livewire Wrestling (LW), Championship Wrestling From Atlanta (CWFA). WrestleMerica, Lariato Pro Wrestling Guild, Independent Wrestling Network (IWN), as well as on a show that was produced by Impact Wrestling star Zicky Dice in January.

Blake Li is also an actor, and he had an opportunity to put his acting skills to use when he took part in the music video for former WWE United States Champion R-Truth’s single “Legacy“, which was released last year.

Blake Li names WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long as one of his head trainers, and Long has helped Li get work with WWE as an extra on WWE-TV. Clips of Li as an extra can be seen before this 2019, “On The Rise” interview with him. Regarding how far Li wants to go in pro-wrestling, he expresses during the interview a desire to be signed to a WWE contract. But after this week’s appearance in AEW, it’s a safe bet that being signed to an AEW contract is of interest to Li as well.
