Humpday Happenings You Might Have Missed

49er's head coach Kyle Shanahan has stated that he does not see ANY scenerio that ends with Jimmy Garoppolo staying with the team. The 31-year-old is set to become a free-agent when the new league year opens in March. The 49er's have quarterback Trey Lance and Brock Purdy currently under contract. Despite Purdy needing UCL surgery and will be out of commission for 6 months they dont see a place for Garoppolo moving forward.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft making it very clear that he will do whatever it takes to get Brady under a 1 day contract so that he will officially retire as Patriot. Kraft saying to CNN:
"I'd do it tomorrow. Not only do I want it, our fans are clamoring for it and to us, he always has been and always will be a Patriot. ... We'll do everything we can in our power to bring him back, sign off as a Patriot, and find ways to honor him for many years to come. He did so much to bring life and good cheer to our community and he's a beloved figure and he's earned the respect and love that people feel for him like no other athlete in our town - and we've had some great ones."
The Pro Bowl takes on a different look this year with events begining on tonight and concluding on Sunday. There will be 8 skills challenges in addition to the flag football game on Sunday.

The East leading Boston Celtics absolutely routed the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday night 139-96. Boston was leading at the end of the 1st quarter 46-16. Jayson Tatum had 31 points and 9 rebounds, Jaylen Brown contributed 26.
The Phoenix Suns are hopeful that one of their stars Devin Booker could return from his groin injury as soon as February 7th against the Brooklyn Nets. The 26-year-old has been out since Christmas Day.

Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone will be out indefinitely after undergoing wat they have called a successful back surgery. Although this his 2nd procedure on his back since May, the 30-year-old is expected to make a full recovery.
The Boston Bruins put a stop to their 3 game losing streak by beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 on Wednesday night. Pavel Zacha scored twice in the 3rd period.
MLB
The Seattle Mariners and utility player Dylan Moore have avoided arbitration by coming to an agreement on a 3-year, $8.875 million extension. The contract does include a few escalator causes that could possibly pit him above $9 million.
