Humpday Happenings In Case You Missed Something

NFL

  • Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry will more then likely be sitting out Thursday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, the team making the announcement on Wednesday. • Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson, after consulting with numerous Dr.'s, has decided to put off surgery on his torn adductor and instead begin rehabbing to prepare for the playoffs. The 32-year-old suffered the injury late in the 4th quarter of Week 16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He will have 2 or 3 weeks to prepare for Philadelphia's 1st playoff game. It will all depend on whether the Eagles earn the 1st round bye.

The 39-year-old previously played with a broken thumb and some sort of rib injury. He missed practice on Wednesday, the team siting a knee issue but saying he will definitely be on the field come Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers saying after Wednesdays practice:

  • The Brooklyn Nets extended their win streak to 10 games on Wednesday. Kyrie Irving scored 15 of his 28 points in the 4th quarter and Kevin Durant had 26 points and a season-high 16 rebounds. The Atlanta Hawks were short handed and couldn't quite hold on, the Nets coming out on top 108-107. The 10 game win streak is the longest so far in the NBA this season and the longest for Brooklyn since the 2005-2006 season.

  • R.J. Barrett is likely to miss at least a week after suffering a laceration on his index finger during Tuesdays loss to the Dallas Mavericks . The 22-year-old was fighting for the ball with Luka Doncic in the opening minutes of the game when the injury occurred, he was sent directly to the locker room with blood dripping from his finger.
