Humpday Happening You Might Have Missed


  • New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen has said that he plans to franchise tag quarterback Daniel Jones if an extension agreement isn't reached by the March 7th deadline. He was hoping that they would have made a little more progress in their discussions up to this point. The 43-year-old general manager saying on NFL Networks "Good Morning Football" :

"You're starting to feel the time crunch a little bit. I wish we were a little bit closer on a deal than what we are right now. But again, there's still time. Things ramped up pretty quick with his new group and we've had productive talks throughout this week. We met Monday, Tuesday, we met yesterday with them, and we'll continue to talk and see if we can get something done before Tuesday."

  • The NFLPA has released "NFL Player Team Report Cards" for the first time. The questions that were asked of the players were only asked about the actual facilities that they are currently playing in. The players were asked questions in 8 different areas including *Treatment of families *Nutrition *Weight room *Strength staff *Training room *Training staff *Locker room and *Team travel. Some pretty interesting information came out from the results. The bottom 5 teams (45-39-1) collectively outperformed the teams that came in the top 5 (43-41-1). There was only 1 category that not 1 single team was given an A+ and that was nutrition and only 3 teams gave their training staff below a B. (Chiefs D-, Commanders D, and Chargers C-) The top 5 teams were: #1- Minnesota Vikings, #2- Miami Dolphins, #3- Las Vegas Raiders, #4- Houston Texans, #5- Dallas Cowboys. The bottom 5 teams were: #28- Jacksonville Jaguars, #29-Kansas City Chiefs, #30- Los Angeles Chargers, #31- Arizona Cardinals, #32- Washington Commanders.


  • Kevin Durant made his debut with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. Durant was traded to the Suns on February 9th but missed a total of 7 weeks due to a right knee sprain. The 34-year-old scored 23 points and went 10-15, helping Phoenix snap the Charlotte Hornets 5 game winning streak, beating them 105-91.

  • Jalen Brunson scored 39 points on Wednesday night helping the New York Knicks to their 7th straight win. New York routed the Brooklyn Nets 142-118.


  • Ottawa acquired the defenseman Jakob Chychrun from the Arizona Coyotes in return they will get a top-5 protected pick this year, a 2024 conditional 2nd-round pick, and a 2026 2nd-round pick.

  • The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded forward Vladislav Namestnikov to the San Jose Sharks for forward Michael Eyssimont. Tampa will keep 50% of Namestnikov's $2.5-million cap hit.
