Hello WWE fans, today we will look at the results of recent WWE shows, Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes II, and Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign.
WWE Friday Night SmackDown
Xavier Woods (w/ Kofi Kingston) defeated Butch (w/ Ridge Holland & Sheamus)
Gunther (w/ Ludwig Kaiser) defeated Joe Alonzo
Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn via countout
Liv Morgan defeated Sasha Banks
Veer Mahaan defeated Dominik Mysterio
AJ Styles vs. Damian Priest resulted in a no contest
Cody Rhodes defeated The Miz
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Naomi (w/ Sasha Banks) defeated Liv Morgan
Bianca Belair defeated Queen Zelina
RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Riddle) defeated Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Otis)
The Usos (Jey & Jimmy Uso) defeated The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)
Also on this episode, Seth Rollins challenged Cody Rhodes to a rematch. Rollins should win this time. Although Rhodes is making it clear that he wants the top WWE title, that title is currently held by Roman Reigns, who as I wrote last week, has unfinished business with Seth Rollins.
WWE NXT 2.0
WWE NXT North American Champion Cameron Grimes defeated Solo Sikoa
Von Wagner (w/ Robert Stone) defeated Ikemen Jiro
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose (w/ Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) defeated Dakota Kai
Xyon Quinn defeated Draco Anthony
Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) won a “Gauntlet” match, outlasting Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs (w/ Fallon Henley), Grayson Waller & Sanga, Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza) (w/ Elektra Lopez), and The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed) (w/ Malcolm Bivens) to become the new WWE NXT Tag Team Champions
According to reports, WWE has not yet decided how to handle Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign. Finally unifying the WWE and Universal Championships was a smart move, because having two top singles champions devalued both championships. Now he should defend the title on both brands, as a touring champion of sorts. With Reigns defending his championships not only against wrestlers on the SmackDown roster, but also RAW wrestlers such as AJ Styles (who I think should be the one to eventually end Reigns’ championship reign) would raise the value of the championship since he would be defending it against wrestlers from both brands.
The other thing that WWE should do is replace both titles with the World Heavyweight Championship so that they have a world champion again.
