With Ronda Rousey back in action in WWE, there is a lot of speculation regarding which brand she will wrestle on, and a rumor is that it will be the SmackDown brand. I think it should be the RAW brand. Rousey and Becky Lynch feuded in 2019, but they never had a singles match. So in a way, the feud never truly ended. Rousey wrestling Lynch for the RAW Women’s Championship one-on-one would be an opportunity for this to finally happen.
Also there are many fresh options for Ronda Rousey in terms of who to work with. If she’s on SmackDown, who will she wrestle? Sasha Banks? They’ve wrestled each other before. Charlotte Flair? They’ve wrestled each other before. Shayna Baszler? Sure, MMA fans would love to see the two former MMA stars in a match together, but it would be best two keep them on separate brands, giving MMA fans a reason to follow both brands. So that leaves Natalya, Naomi, Shotzi, Aliyah, and Xia Li.
On the RAW brand, however, there are many more wrestlers for Ronda Rousey to have first-time singles matches with- Alexa Bliss (they’ve wrestled before, but Bliss’ persona and style changed since then), Carmella, Tamina, Bianca Belair, Nikki ASH, Rhea Ripley, Queen Zelina, and Doudrop.

AJ Styles didn’t win the Royal Rumble, but he has a second chance at being in the title scene at WrestleMania with possibly winning the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber. As I wrote last month, 2022 should be the year that AJ Styles’ time comes.

Also during this episode, Kay Lee Ray stalked and harrassed WWE NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose until she agreed to give Lee Ray a shot at the championship during next week’s episode. It’s great to see her finally a part of WWE NXT Women’s Championship scene and based on what has happened during Lee Ray’s career while she was in NXT UK, Lee Ray should win. She dominated NXT UK for 649 days as WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion, defeating all challengers including Meiko Satomura, who is considered by many to be the best female wrestler in the world.
In fact, if you look beyond Kay Lee Ray’s career in WWE, she also defeated Meiko Satomura before they both were in WWE NXT UK. If Lee Ray has defeated the best in the world on two separate occasions, then logically she will defeat Mandy Rose next week and become the new WWE NXT Women’s Champion. However, I think Rose will somehow retain the championship, especially if her fellow Toxic Attraction members manage to involve themselves in the match. We shall see what happens next week.

As the Sami Zayn-Johnny Knoxville feud continues, it’s appearing that it may extend all the way to WrestleMania. If that’s the case, I hope that it won’t be in the form of a match between the two. Zayn on more than one occasion has expressed interest in wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He hasn’t defended it since November, and in general, we don’t often have the opportunity to see Nakamura in singles action these days. So a good option would be him versus Zayn at WrestleMania for the Intercontinental Championship, with Knoxville as special guest referee. This would be an opportunity for Knoxville to embarrass Zayn one more time, counting Zayn’s shoulders down, ending their feud.
