MORE WWE
With WWE Royal Rumble being this Saturday and WrestleMania not far away, I have been thinking about what I would do if I were booking those two events. First, I would decide what matches I want for the main singles title matches.
As I explained recently, I think the WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship should be unified, and that there should be a WWE World Champion. With Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns still feuding, this would be a perfect opportunity to unify the titles and finish their angle on the same night, so I would book Lesnar and Reigns to successfully defend against Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins respectively at the Royal Rumble, and then face each other on night 1 of WrestleMania.
I would book Roman Reigns to win the unification match, with Paul Heyman turning on Brock Lesnar and realigning himself with Reigns. On night 2 of WrestleMania, Roman Reigns would face the winner of the Royal Rumble, and I would book that person to be AJ Styles, who I would plan on booking to defeat Reigns for the WWE World Championship. Whether it’s been in TNA, Japan, or WWE, Styles has never disappointed. I recall reading that the reason why Styles lost the WWE Champion in 2018 was that he requested it due to not wanting to be on the road as often as he was. They were unreliable sources though, and hopefully, it’s not true, because Styles is definitely the wrestler who I want to be Champion at the end of WrestleMania.
The Women’s Championship matches that I would book for WrestleMania would be Asuka vs. Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair, so Lynch would successfully defend the WWE RAW Women’s Championship against Doudrop at the Royal Rumble.
We haven’t seen Asuka in months, and the Women’s Royal Rumble match is where she would make her surprise return, winning the match and then choosing Becky Lynch to be her WrestleMania opponent. Becky Lynch would retain at WrestleMania, but I would want this match to be the beginning of a series of matches between the two, so Lynch’s victory would most likely not be a clean one.
According to WWE, currently injured Sasha Banks will return to action before WrestleMania. Charlotte Flair’s WrestleMania opponent would be decided in a Battle Royal, which is where Banks would make a surprise return and win the shot at Flar’s WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, which she would win at WrestleMania.
