ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) vs. Roppongi Vice (Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta) resulted in a no contest

After Wardlow’s defeat of Shawn Spears, next up in this program is Wardlow vs. MJF, one on one at AEW Double or Nothing this Sunday, which will likely be the end of this program. As for what would be next Wardlow, I think a program with Ricky Starks is something that fans would be interested in, with Wardlow persuing the FTW Championship.

There has been an adverse reaction to Britt Baker defeating Toni Storm, but it should be noted that this is happening online, where there tends to be a louder and more vocal minority, especially when it comes to pro-wrestling. I think one main reason why this is happening is that Baker is a heel (who cheated to win) and Storm is a face (who receives a lot of support from her fans)- it’s par for the course that fans would dislike the result. But I think the other main reason is that since Storm has been more successful in WWE, Japan, and the UK than Baker, fans of Storm view her as being a better talent.

However, it must be noted that promotions tend to focus their attention on who draws the most eyeballs and money, as opposed to who may be a better wrestler- as physical and athletic pro-wrestling is, it must be remembered that the “pro” stands for professional, which means this is a business. Britt Baker is more over in AEW than Toni Storm was in WWE, which is where Storm is most recognized from. AEW did the right thing because it was smart business.

And not winning the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament is not damaging to Toni Storm’s career- I’m sure that there will be a title match opportunity coming her way in the near future for the AEW TBS Championship, and AEW’s own rankings show evidence of this.

Serena Deeb is ranked number 1 contending in the AEW Power Rankings, and she is receiving an opportunity at the AEW Women’s World Championship this Sunday at AEW Double or Nothing. Nyla Rose is ranked number 2, but being that Rose is a former AEW Women’s World Champion, putting Rose in a match for the AEW TBS Championship wouldn’t make sense. Anna Jay is ranked number 3, and she is receiving an opportunity at the AEW TBS Championship this Sunday at AEW Double or Nothing. So based on AEW’s own Power Rankings, a title match opportunity will be coming Toni Storm’s way very soon.
