Jon Moxley originally was supposed to face Brian Kendrick, in what would have been his AEW debut, but Kendrick was pulled from the show due to comments he had made about 9 years ago (which Kendrick has now apologized for- it appears that his comments were in character). When situations like this happen, I always wonder- do people go online and look for dirt about someone when things are going very well for them, or do people find it earlier, and then hold onto it until things are going very well for the person, and then they show it to everyone.

I apologize for all the hurt and embarassment I have caused with my words. These are not my beliefs and never were beliefs of mine, and I crossed the line. — Brian Kendrick (@mrbriankendrick) February 3, 2022

MJF defeating CM Punk in his hometown of Chicago was a surprise. I think Punk should have won, followed by a sneak attack by MJF which would have led to a rematch at the next PPV. It would have been interesting seeing the crowd go from being very excited over Punk’s victory, to being deflated by seeing him left laying. Nonetheless, a rematch between the two surely will still happen, and Punk fans will be even more eager than before to see him defeat MJF. And if they weren’t willing to pay to see it before, there may now be a higher chance that they will be willing to pay to see it.

With Brandi Rhodes namedropping Impact Wrestling star Josh Alexander during this week’s episode, speculation has begun that he will be signing with AEW in the near future. Impact Wrestling has done well by Alexander, with the Impact World Championship, Impact World Tag Team Championship, and Impact X-Division Championship all being added to his resume during his time with the company- AEW has a roster stacked with many big names, and I don’t think AEW would focus on him as much as Impact Wrestling has. Meanwhile, a move to AEW would likely mean more money. So Alexander needs to decide which is more important to him- cash or creative. And then he will know which is the best decision for him personally to make.
