Glenn Kaplan: The odds for Championship Weekend

The NFL will have the AFC and NFC Championship Games this weekend. A lot of bets are currently being placed on it. It was an extremely fun weekend last weekend and will we get the same type of hype for this weekend or will it let us all down?

Time is going to tell. I usually don’t make NFL predictions by using the spread and the over/under, but here we are. What are my picks going to look like for this weekend?

Cincinnati Bengals vs Kansas City Chiefs

The Cincinnati Bengals won the last matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs back in Week 17, 34-31. Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes are two quarterbacks that are going to air it out. They will both be tough to stop. Even though the Bengals scored only 19 points last week against the Tennessee Titans, expect more against the Chiefs with them giving up 36 points against the Buffalo Bills.

Kansas City has scored 42 points in the last two weeks. This has offense written all over it.

I would bet Cincinnati (+7.5) and the over 54.5 total points scored. You will regret it if you bet under 54.5 total points scored. The Kansas City Chiefs win this football game though over the Cincinnati Bengals by a final score of 38-31.

San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams

The San Francisco 49ers are looking to make it seven consecutive wins against the Los Angeles Rams. That is extremely hard to do and it is also extremely hard to beat a football team three times in a row in one season. San Francisco only scored `13 points last week against the Green Bay Packers.

Los Angeles scored 30 but also gave up 27 points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Rams tried blowing that football game but they are here.

The 49ers won the last matchup in Week 18 against the Rams 27-24 in overtime and they were down 17-0 at one point.

Bet Los Angeles (-3.5) point spread over San Francisco. Also, bet the under 45.5 total points scored. The Los Angeles Rams will beat the San Francisco 49ers by a final score of 24-19.
