  1. The Chicago Blackhawks are entertaining trade offers for their 2-time 40-goal scorer Alex DeBrincat. The Blackhawks have had on going conversations with several teams, so far nothing is definite. They are hoping to get in return a young player, high draft picks, and top prospects.

  1. Pending approval from the Nashville Predators organization and the NHL, former Tennessee Governor Bill Halsam will have ownership stake in the team. Herb Fritch has agreed to sell the majority of his ownership stake to Halsam. He will become a minority owner over the next few months and over the next few years will be a majority owner due to a multi-phased purchase.

  1. Anthony Rizzo contributed to the New York Yankees 8-run 5th-inning with a grand slam off of the 3rd deck out in right field. Giancarlo Stanton, DJ LeMahieu, and Joey Gallo also had homeruns for the Yankees. New York grabbing their 15th win in 16 games against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night after beating them 12-3.

  1. The Chicago Cubs finally put and end to their 10 game losing streak and in the process ended the Atlanta Braves 14 game winning streak. Chicago beat Atlanta 1-0. Rookie Chris Morel hit a sac fly sending in the games only run. A pair of double-digit streaks had not come to an end in the same game since Philadelphia beat Houston on Sept. 15, 1999…. that’s 23 years for anyone counting.

  1. Justin Upton, Seattle Mariners outfielder, took a 90 mph fastball to the helmet in the 5th inning against the Los Angeles Angels. Upton left the field with manager Scott Servais and 2 trainers. It was confirmed that he never lost consciousness.

  1. Seattle Mariners Robbie Ray lost a no-hitter with 2 outs in the 7th inning. Angels Max Stassi hit a high chopper back at the mound that went over the pitcher’s head. Ray didn’t jump, and the ball bounced off the top of his glove, giving Stassi an infield single. Seattle won 8-1.

NFL

  1. 6 NFL players skipped their teams mandatory mini-camps, all for different reasons.

  2. Baker Mayfield (Cleveland Browns) – pushed to the back-up role and up for trade. He has an $18.9 million guaranteed salary. The team excused him from the camp.

  3. Robert Quinn (Chicago Bears) – he is trying to force a trade

  4. Rodney Hudson (Arizona Cardinals) – Head coach Kliff Kingsberry has chosen not to disclose the reason for Hudson’s absence.

  5. Orlando Brown Jr. (Kansas City Chiefs) –  he is officially not under contract so he has no obligation to attend

  6. Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders) – he has entered the final year of his rookie contract and is holding out for more money.

  7. DK Metcalf (Seattle Seahawks) – Similar to McLaurin, DK has also entered the last year of his rookie contract and is looking for a bigger payout.

  1. Safety Jaquiski Tartt is signing a 1-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Tartt spent the last 7 seasons with San Francisco.

  1. The Dallas Cowboys have been penalized for the 2nd year in a row for again having practices that were too physical for OTA’s. Head Coach Mike McCarthy was also fined to the tune of $100,000. Dallas was one of 3 teams that had to forfeit a week of practice this year for the violation last year.
