  1. Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman, allowed just 4 hits over 7 innings before leaving it to Yimi Garcia and Jordan Romano to pitch solid in the 8th and 9th. The 3 pitchers collectively shutting out the struggling New York Yankees 4-0. New York manager Aaron Boone saying after the game on Friday :

“We should be ticked off right now, and we need to start playing better, plain and simple.”

  1. San Diego Padres closer Josh Hader continues to struggle. Entering Friday nights game against the Washington Nationals in the 9th inning with the game tied at 3 all. Hader failed to get even 1 out, gave up the lead on his own error and was pulled from the game after facing just 3 batters. He walked Victor Robles then made a throwing error after fielding a ground ball in front of the mound. The bad throw allowed Robles to score from 1st, Layne Roberts ended up on 3rd base. It all led way to the next batter rookie Alex Call hitting a 2 run shot over the wall. Padres manager Bob Melvin pulled Hader and San Diego lost to Washington 6-3.

  1. Houston Astros big bat Yordan Alvarez was transported to a hospital in Atlanta after having to leave the game on Friday due to illness. Alvarez was taken out of Friday’s game against the Braves in the 5th inning and evaluated in the training room. According to The Associated Press, Manager Dusty Baker said that Alvarez was suffering shortness of breath siting the cause as smoke from in game fireworks.

  1. Free-agent wide receiver Demarcus Robinson will sign with the Baltimore Ravens. Robinson spent most of training camp with the Las Vegas Raiders but was part of cuts earlier this week. He met with the Ravens on Friday and agreed in principal to join the team.

  1. Former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer is headed back to the world of college football. He will make his return to Fox “Big Noon Kickoff” where he was in 2019 and 2020. Meyer was let go in December by Jacksonville amid a handful of controversies.

  1. Rookie 1st round draft pick Chris Olave pulled in a 20 yard pass for his 1st touchdown of pre-season. The touchdown topped of a great showing in practices this week for Olave. New Orleans Saints lost to the Green Bay Packers 20-10.
