Fantasy Football: Tight End Sleepers

Fantasy football usually only has one tight end drafted to start. Some people will have an extra tight end to start as their flex or have them on their bench if need be though. The tight-end position is not that deep in fantasy football. Some of the top tight-end prospects for fantasy football this season are Travis Kelce (KC), Mark Andrews (BAL), Kyle Pitts (ATL), George Kittle (SF), and Darren Waller (LV).

There are some sleepers at the tight end position that always emerge every single season. Who are some of the potential sleeper tight ends in fantasy football this season though?

Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears

Cole Kmet is going to be a very valuable tight end to have in PPR leagues this season. He could be one of the top targets for quarterback Justin Fields because their wide receiver room is horrid. Kmet may not get a ton of yardage, but he might get all of the catches and touchdowns.

In 17 games last season with the Chicago Bears, Cole Kmet caught 60 passes for 612 yards receiving and zero touchdowns. Expect some of those numbers to up this season for fantasy football.

Irv Smith Jr., Minnesota Vikings

Irv Smith Jr. for the Minnesota Vikings will be the tight end this season. After Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, quarterback Kirk Cousins needs to use the tight end position a little bit more though. Smith Jr. missed all of last season with an injury.

In his career, he has played in 29 games and has caught 66 passes for 676 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. Irv Smith Jr. is looking to do better than that combined in 2022 though for fantasy football.

Daniel Bellinger, New York Giants

Daniel Bellinger for the New York Giants will be the starting number one tight end this season. New York completely revamped the tight end room under general manager Joe Schoen. Bellinger was a fourth-round pick out of San Diego State in the 2022 NFL Draft. He will be a security blanket for quarterback Daniel Jones.

Daniel Bellinger played in 11 games last season for the Aztecs and caught 31 passes for 357 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for two yards on one carry.
