Familiar Faces Return to Patriots Camp

David Andrews is in uniform for the first time in camp. Looks like he’s off PUP. #Patriots — Evan Lazar (@ezlazar) July 29, 2022

Still no sign of James White, Chasen Hines and Andrew Stueber. Defensive backs Jonathan Jones. Nor Myles Bryant, and Jabrill Peppers. BUT, big but. Center David Andrews and Jake Bailey were both seen in uniform and working out according to Evan Lazar of Patriots.com

Having the heart and soul of the Patriots O-Line back and in shells is the best news thus far coming out of Foxboro. Sorry QB numbers geeks. Health is what drives the bus and this team goes nowhere without good health on the offensive line.  Andrews was stuck on Pup after off season shoulder surgery. Bailey was absent with an undisclosed illness that seems to have passed. Kickers Count People

Fun drill to wrap up practice. The players are lined up in a tunnel with Jake Bailey punting to Tre Nixon and Marcus Jones. They’re trying to see how many punts they can catch with lot letting go of the ball from the previous rep. — Alex Barth (@RealAlexBarth) July 29, 2022

This still leaves rookie OL Mates Hines and Stueber on the outside looking in, That is not good news. Both these men are looking to make the roster. Stuber was a seventh round pick in 2022 and Hines went just a round earlier. This is time we had all hoped to see them but they had also been put on the (Non-Football Injury List) a week ago. The pair had already missed the spring workouts.

Patriots rookie OL Chasen Hines (sixth round, LSU) and Andrew Stueber (seventh round, Michigan) have been placed on the active/non-football injury list. This means they aren’t yet ready to practice. They can come off at any time. They didn’t practice this spring either. — Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) July 19, 2022

As for Jones – Bryant and  Peppers ? Tik-Tok people Tik-Tok. Time’s a wastin and these guys need to get into uniform and up to speed with the intricacies of this seasons defensive packages. We have all seen before what missing these important days can mean to both rookies and veterans alike.
