Red Sox Take W off Devers Bat and Angels Errors

What a night at Fenway Park. I wish I had seen it. And I bet a lot of you feel the same way. Last night's game was only shown on apple TV plus - minus - divided by. So if you were a grumpy old man like myself you busted out the transistor, sat on the porch and listened to Joe Castiglione weave his words and describe each and every pitch and at bat as only he can as the Sox ended a four game losing streak that began and now has ended in Tampa.

The Sox bats while not quiet couldn't get a run in during the first three innings Raffy Devers got on in the fourth thanks to a throwing error by angels SS Rengifo, Kike continued his climb back to the Mendoza line by doubling him home and then crossed the plate on a Rendon throwing error himself. 2-2, Devers homered to deep right in his next at bat and the Sox added 2 more in the sixth when Angels pitcher Aaron Loup hit Wong and Chang to start the inning, both scored on more throwing errors and past balls. 5-2 good guys.

Tanner Houck got the start and gave up 2 runs in the first ( a red sox theme ) but settled down after that finishing the night after the fourth giving up just those 2 earned while striking out 6 and walking 4. Josh Winckowski jumped on the hill in the 5th and gave up a straight number on 2 hits while striking out , umm no one in his 3 innings of work, schreiber came on and gave up 2 hits but took care of the 8th with 2 K’s and Janses shut the door in the ninth earring his first save at Fenway by striking out Mike Trout - Shohei Ohtani and old friend of the podcast Hunter Renfro. He gave up a lone hit to Rendon but it didn't matter. Jansen was on a mission when Renfro got up to bat and struck him out on three pitches. It's safe to say Jansen's cutter was the Angel blade the Red sox sorely needed in their first game back home.

While I said I would have loved to have watched this on NESN or anywhere, it was a nice night on the porch with Castiglione.
