Global sports entertainment platform DAZN Group has announced this week that it has secured the global rights to broadcast Naciones MMA to 200+ countries and territories globally in English and Spanish (excluding US Spanish language rights in 2022). Naciones MMA is a project that was created to promote the talent of Latin American MMA fighters.
DAZN’s goal is to become the leading broadcaster of the widest range of engaging sports with passionate international fanbases, delivering consistency of quality to rights holders seeking access to a global market. Its exclusive agreement with Naciones MMA will allow DAZN subscribers to watch Naciones MMA’s wide roster of Latin American MMA fighters go head-to-head on the platform until December 2023, live and on demand. The first event takes place on 22 July in Bogotá, Colombia, between Humberto Bandenay (formerly of UFC) and Sebastian Piedrahita.

Along with Naciones MMA, DAZN also has a deal with Middle East-based MMA promotion Brave CF. DAZN is building a daily destination for sports fans that is a ‘one-stop-shop’ for watching and engaging with sports and related products and services, by offering recreational betting, news, e-commerce, and gaming alongside its live sports offering. DAZN is creating a single, frictionless, immersive, and interactive platform to provide a sports fan with a variety of services.
Founded in July 2015, DAZN’s streaming service is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish, and serves over 200 countries and territories. It has been successful to the extent that mobile analytics firm Sensor Tower listed DAZN as the top revenue-generating sports app in 2019, stating that its platform beat ESPN as the highest earning app for the first half of 2019, and that DAZN was also ahead of other notable apps including NBA and NHL.
As DAZN continues to grow, It will be interesting to see if additional MMA projects enter deals with them in the future.
