Dak Prescott Out 6-8 Weeks For the Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys offense looked totally lost in a 19-3 loss on Sunday night football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home, but quarterback Dak Prescott will be out for 6-8 weeks. He will need hand surgery, according to owner Jerry Jones. This season could not have started worse for the Dallas Cowboys.

They were the only team in the NFC East that lost on Sunday. The New York Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Washington Commanders all won and are now favored ahead of the Dallas Cowboys on various sportsbooks to win the NFC East title though. Dak Prescott completed 14-of-29 passes for 134 yards and one interception. He also rushed for 11 yards on two carries.

Prescott looked horrendous before the hand injury. The play calling was terrible and he also looked off for them. This injury could be the excuse for head coach Mike McCarthy to not get fired after this season is over though.

In the meantime, Cooper Rush is going to be the starting quarterback for this football team and it may not be a good thing moving forward. Rush completed 7-of-13 passes for 64 yards.

Ezekiel Elliott was Dallas’s leading rusher with 52 yards on 10 carries.

Noah Brown caught five passes for 68 yards receiving as the Cowboys leading receiver.

Kellen Moore, the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, needs to get CeeDee Lamb (two receptions for 29 yards receiving), Dalton Schultz (seven receptions for 62 yards receiving), and Tony Pollard (eight rushing yards on six carries and two receptions for 14 yards receiving) more involved with this offense considering the fact that Dak Prescott will be out. They need to make this offense simple for Cooper Rush.

We will see what happens moving forward. They waisted a two sacks performance by Micah Parsons. It is going to be a long season for the Dallas Cowboys without quarterback Dak Prescott. It feels like this season is over before it even begins for them though.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0) will be on the road next Sunday against the New Orleans Saints (1-0).

The Dallas Cowboys (0-1) will host next Sunday the Cincinnati Bengals (0-1).
