BURST Pro Wrestling was launched in 2021, and it is the first pro-wrestling promotion based in Saga Prefecture of Kyushu, the southwesternmost of Japan’s main islands. The parent company of BURST is ONE STEP / Life Learning Class, an organization that gives back to its community by hosting and co-sponsoring training camps and lectures, and providing disaster prevention/mitigation and relief support activities.
ONE STEP is represented by two men who are very familiar faces in the Japanese pro-wrestling scene. Two of Its directors are 6-time former ZERO1 World Heavyweight Champion and former AJPW World Tag Team Champion Kohei Sato; and Towa Iwasaki, the third longest reigning ZERO1 United National Heavyweight Champion in history and also a former NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Champion.
Other notable talents who have competed in a BURST ring include former ZERO1 World Junior Heavyweight Champion / ZERO1 International Junior Heavyweight Champion and current BJW Tag Team Champion Fuminori Abe, and former BJW Death Match Heavyweight Champion Takumi Tsukamoto.
While presenting a product that will appeal to many pro-wrestling fans, BURST wants to be an alternative pro-wrestling promotion, seeking to draw people who used to watch pro-wrestling, people who have previously never watched pro-wrestling, and children who know nothing about pro-wrestling,
