Buddy- Detroit Lions 7-Round Mock Draft with GM Hat

The Lions are one of the most interesting teams in the 2022 Draft.  They’ve stated #2 overall is available for trade, let’s get into it.

The Lions trade #2 overall to the Jets for #4,#35 and #69

The Lions trade #4 to Seattle for #9, #40, #72 and #109 overall

9. Jermaine Johnson (EDGE) FSU- Plug and Play opposite Michael Brockers.  I personally think he’s the best EDGE in this draft.  Two move downs and still draft Johnson.

The Lions trade #32 to the Jets for #38 and #163

34. Desmond Ridder (QB) Cincinnati- He has the highest QB grade in some buildings.  How soon until he overcomes Jared Goff?

35. Lewis Cine (S) Georgia- Back end of the Defense stud who can help in coverage and intimidate over the middle.

38. Nakobe Dean (LB) Georgia-3-down LB who will excel at the 2nd level because of speed and recognition.

40. Quay Walker (LB) Georgia- Yes, three Georgia defenders in a row.  Dean and Walker in two LB situations, add Anzalone in base.

66. John Metchie III (WR) Alabama- The Lions take a talented WR who is recovering from injury.  He’s very versatile in his ability to line up in multiple spots.

Lions trade #69 to New England for #85 and #200

77. Trey McBride (TE) Colorado St- Hockenson is a great Inline TE, here is a guy you can pair with him as a Move TE and open passing lanes against LB and S.

85. Phidarian Mathis (IDL) Alabama- You add to the IDL with Mathis after spending 2nd and 3rd at the position last year.  Great rotation could be in place.

97. Coby Bryant (CB) Cincinnati-Coverage is important in the league, a man corner with the ability to contribute right away is a must.

109. Spencer Burford (IOL) UTSA- Start looking to the future, especially at RG.

163. Derion Kendrick (CB) Georgia-  Back to the National Champs. Never too much young, good depth at CB.

177. Romeo Doubs (WR) Nevada- Nice fit with the current group including Metchie.

181. Kellen Diesch (OT) Arizona ST- Backup Swing Tackle with upside

200.  Haasan Haskins (RB) Michigan- Swift needs a solid, steady compliment. Stay in State and find him.

217. Jalen Nailor (WR) Michigan St- More of a boundary and YPR guy than the others in the group.

Any debate or thoughts @e2gfounder
