Astros take 2-0 Series Lead On The Bat of Yordan Alvarez

The Houston Astros took a 2-0 American league division series lead last night when they took game two from the Seattle Mariners 4-2.The best-of-five series now comes down to win or go home for the Mariners.

Houston's Yordan Alvarez, didn't wait for the ninth this go round, hitting a two-run, go-ahead home-run in the bottom of the sixth. With one swing He took the Stros from 2-1 down to 3-2 up and pushed Seattle into a corner as the head back to the great Northwest.

Louis Castillo was picked up by the Mariners from the Cincinnati Reds at the trade deadline for nights like tonight . He threw seven innings before giving way to the M's bullpen, permitting three runs on five hits and no walks. Kyle Tucker hit a solo shot in the bottom of the second Before Alvarez put Houston ahead for good in the sixth. Castillo also struck out seven on the night.

Framber Valdez went 5 ⅔ for the Astros giving up just one earned run on four hits and three walks, He also struck out six on the night, He left the hill with bases jacked. Hector Neris came on and kept the Mariners lead at 2-1 by getting Cal Raleigh to ground out to short. Ryan Pressly got the Save.

The Astros now get on a plane up 2-0. Only 10 teams have ever blown a 2-0 division series lead in the history of division Play. I can't see the Astros becoming the 11th. But stranger things have happened and the Mariners finished the season 46-35 at home.
